Martin Black Joins Us to Talk About the Horsemen's Reunion

What if there were a colt starting competition that wasn't really a competition? What if there were 20 of the best horsemen/women from around the world who got together to start colts just like they would if they were on their own ranch? What if YOU could watch close up and personal?

On this week's show we speak with Martin Black, one of the producers of The Horsemen's Re-Union where these "What if's" turn into reality.  Martin tells us about this unique competition going on April 15th-20th on the Central Coast of California at the Mid-State Fairgrounds in Paso Robles.  You can see some of your favorite horsemen and clinicians start two colts each over a five day period.  You get to see how colt starting was meant to be.

Included in the event are a concert and dinner loaded with lots of entertainment.

The are a wide variety of ticket packages available.  For tickets and more information check out the Horsemen's Reunion website and you can find them on Facebook to get updates on the schedule.

John Thomson on Australian Stock Horses

On today's show we have a fun and interesting conversation about Australian Stock Horses with John Thomson of Brumby's Run.  He tells about the breed, its history but much much more.  We learn about the special temperment and good mind these stout horses have and which disciplines they may be best suited for.

For more information on John's ranch and the horses he has for sale check out - Brumby's Run or http://www.australianstockhorsesusa.com/

If you have not stopped by the new website, we would love your input.  Check it out at Whoa Podcast.  And email us at john@WhoaPodcast.com.

Horse Nutrition with Dr. Smith

On today's episode we have a fresh conversation with Dr. Smith of Gomers, Inc.  You remember Gomers, they make the product Karbo Combo and Epic Cl.  Dr. Smith talks to us about colic and how Karbo can improve your horse's chances of never getting it again.

And, there are some changes in the air.  We are completely redesigning our website to be the one-stop shop for our podcast.

Thanks for listening everyone.  We really appreciate it.  Stay in touch at 206-426-6484, follow us on Twitter, like us on Facebook, or email us at duhpodcast@pacbell.net

A Conversation with Sean McRoberts

Once again I try another conversation with our ferrier, Sean McRoberts.  In this interview, Sean and his apprentice Lane Selz, are working on trimming our horses as I ask questions and listen.  I know the sound is not perfect, but I really enjoy hearing the sounds of the nippers, rasps, and even the birds singing in the background.  We hope you do to.

Sean was a professional bull rider and Lane is an up-and-coming bull rider and they both relate a few stories and experiences about bull riding.  And, we just have a good old conversation bouncing from topic to topic.

We would appreciate your feedback.  You can call us on the voice line at 206-426-6484 or email us at DUHpodcast@pacbell.net

Enjoy,

Dr. Smith of Gomers - Rebroadcast

Thanks for downloading the podcast everyone.  We are hoping to interview Dr. Smith of Gomers again this week.  You remember him.  He has been a veterinarian for over 60 years and formualted Karb Combo.  In preparing for the upcoming interview I revisited my first conversation with Dr. Smith.  It was amazing how he overcame my poor interviewing skills and was still able to layout some very informative, easy-to-understand information on how Karbo works.  It was so good, we decided to run it again.
If you have any questions for the new interview, get them to us quickly at 206-426-6484 or email them to DUHPodcast@pacbell.net
Again, thanks for all the wonderful support!
